Required Documentation Resources
Once you schedule a FREE, no-obligation consultation with us, you will receive an email detailing further instructions prior to your appointment.

Here is that list of tasks and documents that will speed up the process if completed and retrieved prior to your free consultation appointment.
1. Register with the VA

Go to www.va.gov and create an account with the VA, if not already done so.

Click the "Create Account" button on the right side of the home page.
2. Add/update any dependents with the VA

Go to https://www.va.gov/view-change-dependents/

Double check your dependents are accurate, and add/update as necessary.

Please note, your dependents will not automatically be transferred from your branch of service or from DEERs. You will need to manually add them into the VA
3. Intent to File

Call the VA at 1-800-698-2411 and speak to an operator.
If you are filing an Intent to File, ask the operator to put in an intent to file for disability. They will mail the letter to your address on record (please confirm it is accurate). Please take note of the date. If you do not receive it prior to your free consultation with us, just let us know the date you filed and send us a copy of it when you receive it.
If you already have an Intent to File, please call the VA and have them email you the letter.
The VA will only email a copy of a replacement Intent to File letter--they will not email initial letters.

Can this be done online? Yes, it is possible, however, with updates to the VA website, oftentimes Veterans also accidentally start their claims process when they file an Intent to File online. We highly recommend calling to file or obtain an Intent to File letter right now until their online process becomes more user-friendly again.
4. Disability Breakdown Letter

Call the VA at 1-800-698-2411 and speak to an operator.

Ask for your Disability Breakdown Letter with diagnostic codes. Ask for it to be emailed to you.
5. Rating Decision Letter(s)

Go to https://www.va.gov/track-claims/your-claim-letters

Download any and all rating decision letters you have available.
6. VA Blue Button Record

Go to https://www.va.gov/my-health/medical-records/download/date-range

Select the Date Range for "All Time" and follow the prompts.
